your sweetheart a glass of rosé, and kick back as we send this one out to all the lovers, lovelorn, loveless,

I wish we were that clever, but there is really no way for us to time something like that! But I won't deny that when I realized it was going to be Podcast 69 and told Pete and Randall, we all had a pretty hearty laugh.
Best, Ryan

Really good podcast today! Good work.
Ryan Block @ Feb 14th 2006 5:29PM
Thanks! I actually think this the best Podcast we ever recorded, believe it or not. It was the most fun I've ever had doing a Podcast, anyway.
Best, Ryan

Guys,
Thank you so much for responding to my Karma woes! I was heartbroken when I heard it wasn't on the normal podcast but you've reaffirmed my faith in all things gadget with this special. I'm looking forward to checking out the Gigabeat S when it comes to the UK (probably six months after the US and for 150% the price!). For now, the Karma will struggle on!
Keep the podcasts coming, they keep me greatly amused on the tube every Wednesday morning :-)

I really feel for the guy whose Rio died. I had a Carbon that was not a particularly nice experience either. The support after the sale was pathetic too.
I bought a Nano and a very robust case and love it.
derf @ Feb 14th 2006 9:27PM
could you please please please get headset mikes or stop moving back and forth away from the mike and back, it's *so* annoying to listen to... I mean the podcast is not so bad but this is so damn annoying, try to listen to it for a minute please...

Scott, from D.C., whose girlfriend keeps running down his
Treo's battery with Bejewled, should invest in a NEW Nintendo DS (about 130 dollars) and the game Zoo Keeper, a straight port of Bejewled. It'll have that touch screen that makes the game so easy to play and that way you can keep your Treo's screen safe.
Carlos @ Feb 15th 2006 4:43AM
This was one of the best podcasts, ever. I mean, open-box iPods and Bejeweled-scratched Treos. Freaking awesome; you folks must do this again next year.

Hi guys, thanks so much for taking my call during the Lovecast! I am NOT any kind of shill for Pentax, but it does look like the Optio WPI is perfect for us! Why couldn't they have thrown in that $20 skin though, sheesh. And we're not really the "his & her color-coded camera" type, but Hubby's favorite color is blue, so I think I have to go for that. Thanks for the pointer!
Richard @ Feb 15th 2006 8:29PM
Dumb question time, why is the aac version 20143k but the mp3 is only 18219k - surely the aac+ should be about 1/4 the size of the mp3 one, which would benifit those of us on something barely faster then dialup
Hudson Pridham @ Feb 16th 2006 12:50AM
You show that architect girlfriend of yours a good time Peter! We are a hard people; so what that we have to work through every major holiday. St. Patrick's day... how I miss thee.

+1 for the Invisible Shield. It's really a spectacular product. It adds no bulk and is literally close to indestructible. People always gasp (as I did the first time) when I take a key to my nano to prove a point.
I would recommend the version with the clickwheel cutout though - I had issues with the previous version (although they weren't related, apparently) but it feels a lot better with the clickwheel open.

Re: the girl in Sydney who wants to bootleg an XBOX to Australia
I doubt it would work here since the power is 240 Volts and 50 Hz and the PAL system is totally incompatible with NTSC inputs. Otherwise - good show.

Ryan and Peter, thanks for the great show, and it was fantastic to hear from some other female listeners. Just remember that it's not only Blokes that buy gadgets or Blokes that buy gadgets for their Girls. Girls buy gadgets too! Love the Podcast.
Schmee @ May 27th 2006 2:51AM
Hey,
Just saw that you played our music on this show... For some reason the PMN didn't email me, so I checked the PMN, and there it was! Thanks!
