Engadget Podcast 090 - 10.03.2006
Another busy couple of weeks for gadget news in Engadget land: Zune came out swinging with price and release dates, Microsoft launched a lawsuit against Viodentia and whomever else is behind FairUse4WM -- Viodentia responded with a new version of the app -- DVD Jon got back in the mix on FairPlay DRM (but not how you'd think), Mobile ESPN folded, HP bought VoodooPC, batteries were being recalled left and right by Sony, and (almost done!) they also managed to loose the Reader and the SE / Fossil Bluetooth watch upon us. What fun. We've got all the usual commentary, jocular fooling around, and other such banter on Podcast 90!Get the podcast

Itunes now gives me the m4a version of your podcast. I still want the mp3 version. What gives? I tried unsubscribing and re-subscribing. No dice. Itunes used to give the mp3 version.

Ditto!
What happened to the .MP3 feed. All I'm getting on the http://podcasts.engadget.com/rss.xml feed are .m4a! No workie on my PSP!

so DVD Jon is going to sell people the format he broke? will his tools break the files that come out of his ITMS-clone?
Carlos @ Oct 5th 2006 4:47PM
Engadget folk: You're on the featured banner on the iTunes podcast page. Nice.

The mp3 file plays at 2x speed on my player. And, it's the previous week's podcast. The ogg file is the previous week's podcast. What gives does anybody do a test download and play?
Trent Wolbe @ Oct 5th 2006 7:44PM
CW, just re-checked those files and everything seems to be up and running fine for me...are you talking about the links at bottom, or the feed? Anyone else having similar problems?
Thanks, sorry it's screwy for ya -
Trent

I'm talking about the links to download the files (ogg and mp3) as opposed to the RSS feeds. I right click to download it and save it to my desktop (using Firefox on a mac and pc), then drag it to an SD card and listen to it on my Palm.
