Slingbox AV spotted in the wild!

Ah, the Slingbox AV -- a not so wily creature which has appeared not only on the FCC twice, but now on the internets in some hot Slingbox-gone-wild nudity. We're not sure why the AV is so much more popular a leak than the Tuner or Pro, but boy can we not wait for this Thursday.

These are great and cool and dope and fly and all, but what I want is a hardware sling client that I can plug into a regular TV. Then I can plug the output from my Tivo in the living room into the network and watch it in the bedroom. Right now, I'm doing it by encoding the A/V outs back to a coax signal. While it works pretty well, there is noise in the system (audio hiss, the most annoying). Seems like a sling hardware encode/decode system could eliminate some of these problems, plus add support for place-shifng an HD signal. Watching TV on my phone would be gravy.

I am so sick of these blurry crappy photos. This is my pet peeve with camera phones, pocket digital camera and anything else besides a SLR, those little things are nothing but POS.

annoyed with the crappy photos?
this is 'leaked' photo of an unreleased device and you expect someone to take a shot of it with an SLR. get real.

Judging by the packaging, etc. it looks like these are ready to hit the stores as soon as they are announced. I'm all over that top o' the line model. I was going to purchase one last weekend but glad I held out. I've got my fingers crossed for an announcement this week as everyone is speculating. Maybe they will hit stores this weekend even...probably not but I can dream!

I did notice when I went to RadioShack this past weekend their stock of Slingboxes where gone. I had no idea these might be released so soon I was so pissed becuase I was at RadioShack to buy one. It was my mission. I'm glad they pulled them cuz I would've been even pissedereederer if I saw this while setting up an old model.

Slingbox: Almost the best toy ever created. If anyone remembers the radioshack "rabbit" this is a close seccond ;-)

That's pretty cool. I wonder if SlingMedia is an IPO candidate in the next 12 months given the market's renewed appetite for tech plays.

Wow, John! How did you find that image on Amazon?
Jeff @ Sep 26th 2006 6:31PM
Looks like Amazon is also posting specs, pics etc. of the Tuner version.
